Gourmet Glatt Takes A Seat At The Table
As if there weren’t enough happening at Gourmet Glatt on a winter Friday morning, last week’s live webcast of the popular Nachum Segal Network (NSN) show Table for Two—hosted by the ever-vivacious Naomi Nachman, a.k.a. The Aussie Gourmet—definitely upped the energy levels.
The first of a series of in-store Table for Two webcasts scheduled to take place this year, Friday’s show marked the 60th anniversary of well-known hot dog and provisions company Abeles & Heymann, maker of Hod Golan products. The program featured wine and food tastings, a cooking demonstration, food sample giveaways, and interviews with a number of special guests, including Jay Buchsbaum, vice president of marketing for Royal Wines, and his colleague Shlomo Blashka.
The webcast was also an occasion to announce Gourmet Glatt’s official sponsorship of the “What’s for Dinner?” segment of Naomi’s weekly program—and Naomi’s new role as the store’s cooking consultant.
“I am so thrilled to be joining the Gourmet Glatt family,” says Naomi. “The store is such an integral part of the Five Towns community. Aside from its high quality and outstanding customer service, I just love that the store is so innovative, always sourcing new products and trends in the kosher food industry.”

Working In Concert With The Community
Gourmet Glatt is proud to be an official sponsor of the upcoming Harmony X Concert Series, which will benefit TOVA—a program that provides adult mentors to Jewish youngsters struggling with academic, social, and emotional issues.
“We believe we have a responsibility to use our resources and services to impact the local and wider Jewish community in a positive way,” says Gourmet Glatt’s Yoeli Steinberg. “The Harmony concert gives us an opportunity to both support a longstanding community event and help a worthy organization carry out its vital work.”
In addition to many other efforts on behalf of Torah and chesed causes around town, around the city and around the world, Gourmet Glatt regularly provides refreshments for Avos U’Banim programs in the Five Towns area. This Motzaei Shabbos, the store will sponsor a special Avos U’Banim melaveh malkah, which will be held at Bais Medrash of Cedarhurst as part of this week’s community-sponsored Agudath Israel of America Shabbos.
“We are grateful to Gourmet Glatt—and to all our sponsors—for helping to make Harmony X a huge success,” says TOVA’s program director, Yehuda Klinkowitz. “It really is beautiful when our whole community pulls together for the sake of our children.”
Know Your Parashah? Sweeeet!
It’s not just the beautiful platters and delicious array of packaged candies, nuts, and chocolates that have shoppers flocking to Gourmet Glatt’s beautiful new candy section every week from Wednesday morning right through to erev Shabbos.
It’s also the weekly parashah sheets—one of the store’s most popular innovations. “Every week we set out a table with the sheets and a variety of candies that relate to the questions that have been prepared by the terrific Rabbi Yechiel Weberman for that particular parashah,” explains purchasing manager Howie Klagsbrun. “When children answer questions correctly, their parent can reward them with the appropriate candy.”
According to Howie, the feedback on the parashah sheets has been, well, sweet. “Parents are constantly telling us that the sheets and, of course, the candies, have really made the Shabbos parashah review more exciting for their kids.” v
